Steven McKnight | Juror
Steven McKnight is a 35mm film photographer from Nashville, Tennessee. He is currently based in Brainerd, Minnesota. His work ranges from portraits, urban and rural landscapes, minimalistic imagery, and experimental photography projects. His most recent body of work, "Danse Macabre", exhibited in 2014, was created with the use of expired 35mm black and white film. The imagery he created was inspired by his love for the aesthetics of horror films and gothic literature through an exploration of existential crisis using masked characters. All of McKnight's photography is unedited, and any visual effects are all achieved in-camera.
As an artist living and working out of the Franklin Arts Center in Brainerd, Minnesota, McKnight has participated in many exhibitions within the galleries in the building, including the FACRAG, Q Gallery, and The New Bohemian Gallery.
He is excited to be the juror for this exhibition, and looks forward to viewing the photography submissions from local artists, as well as those from across the country.
